Magical

25th May

Magic Mike a 2012 American comedy-drama film that follows Mike Lane (Channing Tatum), a charismatic 30-year-old who works as a roofer by day and performs as a male stripper by night at Club Xquisite in Tampa, Florida. Mike takes under his wing a 19-year-old newcomer, Adam (Alex Pettyfer), introducing him to the world of male stripping. As Adam becomes immersed in the lifestyle of easy money and partying, Mike begins to question his own choices and aspirations, particularly his dream of starting a custom furniture business.

The film delves into themes of ambition, identity, and the complexities of balancing personal dreams with the allure of a hedonistic lifestyle. This movie was the worst movie I've ever watched in my life. Magic Mike was neither magic nor had much refernce to mikes. All I saw was a bunch of young idiotic men reveal their pale skin to an audience of gloating females. Rated MA

Mission Impossible

Much like its predecessors, some half a dozen and some, Final Reckoning had me thinking: when will these impossible missions ever live up to its name. That said, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One continues the franchise's tradition of delivering high-stakes espionage thrillers, with Tom Cruise performing his own stunts to bring authenticity to the action sequences. The film sets the stage for the next installment, promising to delve deeper into the challenges posed by advanced AI in global security. Rated M

The galaxy faces a new threat from the First Order, a militaristic remnant rising from the Empire’s ashes. On the desert planet Jakku, scavenger Rey (Daisy Ridley) discovers BB-8, a droid carrying a map to the missing Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Meanwhile, stormtrooper FN-2187—later calling himself Finn (John Boyega)—frees himself from the First Order’s control and joins forces with Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), a Resistance pilot tasked with retrieving BB-8. Their paths intersect with Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca, who help them evade the sinister Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the weaponized Starkiller Base, capable of destroying entire star systems. As alliances form and secrets surface, Rey must confront her own mysterious lineage and embrace her burgeoning Force abilities, while the Resistance mounts a desperate effort to stop the First Order’s reign of terror.

This movie had is highs and lows, but I thought it was a great opening to the sequel trilogy. Adam Driver's portrayal of Kylo Ren was interesting; as I never though the man behind the mas would be so, ugly. Rated PG
